Ceiling fan transition: every blade pass, a new outfit

How to make the ceiling fan outfit transition trend on Tanvo with one full-body photo and up to three outfits, plus tips for clean changes on the blade.

What the trend is

The ceiling fan transition is shot from directly overhead. You lie on the floor or the bed, a ceiling fan spins between you and the camera, and every time a blade sweeps across the frame, your outfit changes. It's a neat trick: the blade hides the cut, so the change looks like it happens by magic.

The Ceiling Fan Transition app on Tanvo makes the clip from a full-body photo of you and photos of up to three more outfits. No ceiling fan, no overhead rig and no outfit changes on the floor required.

Why it works

Outfit transitions are popular because they show several looks in one clip, and the fan gives the format a rhythm. Each blade pass is a beat, and the viewer starts waiting for the next change. The overhead angle also flatters a full outfit, showing it top to bottom in one frame. It works for fashion hauls, "outfits of the week," packing for a trip, or just showing off.

The looks

There are four looks, each a different room and light:

  • Bedroom daylight: soft daylight, the classic setting.
  • Neon night: colored night lighting, good for going-out outfits.
  • Sunlit floor: lying on the floor in bright sun.
  • Hotel room: a hotel setting, nice for travel and packing clips.

How to make it on Tanvo

  1. Open the app. Go to Ceiling Fan Transition.
  2. Pick a look from the list above.
  3. Upload your photos. The app asks for You, full body, then Outfit 2, Outfit 3 and Outfit 4. The first photo is you in your starting outfit; the others are the outfits you change into.
  4. Generate. The app runs on Seedance 2 Mini and makes a 10 second vertical clip at 480p in 9:16. The default costs 220 credits, and failed runs are refunded.

Tips for a good result

Use a true full-body photo for the first slot. Head to feet, standing straight, arms relaxed, in good light. The clip shows you from above at full length, so cropped feet or a cut-off head have to be guessed.

Make the outfit photos clear. Each outfit should be easy to read: the whole garment visible, on a plain background or worn in a simple mirror shot. Flat lays of clothes on a bed work well too, as long as nothing is folded over or hidden.

Pick outfits that are different from each other. The trick lands when each change is obvious. A white tee, then a red dress, then a black suit reads clearly. Three similar grey hoodies don't.

Match the look to the outfits.

  • Everyday or casual outfits: Bedroom daylight.
  • Party and going-out looks: Neon night.
  • Summer clothes and swimwear: Sunlit floor.
  • Travel capsules and packing clips: Hotel room.

Keep accessories simple. Big hats or bags can confuse where the outfit ends and the room begins. If an accessory matters, make sure it's clearly visible in that outfit's photo.

FAQ

Do I need a ceiling fan?

No. The fan, the room and the overhead angle are all generated. You only upload a photo of yourself and photos of the outfits.

How many outfits can I show?

Up to four in total: the one you're wearing in the full-body photo, plus Outfit 2, Outfit 3 and Outfit 4.

The transitions are not on the blade. Why?

The timing of each change is generated, so sometimes a change lands a little before or after the blade passes. Clear, distinct outfit photos help, because the model has an easier job swapping between them. If the timing is off in a way that spoils the clip, generate again.

What does it cost?

The default, a 10 second vertical clip at 480p on Seedance 2 Mini, is 220 credits. If a run fails, the credits are refunded. See the pricing page for credit packs.
